Are you a top performing teacher, passionate about helping every student reach their full potential? Are you excited to build something from the ground up?
This role is for a founding teacher leader who will both teach and co-lead school administration. You’d be one of two teachers building and running the school from the first year.
Working closely with the Head of School (author of this job post), you will own:
Teaching
Lead a class of 8 students ages 6-9 championing the inner fire values of curiosity, compassion, and challenge
Build out and improve on the class curriculum, select appropriate lesson materials tailored to each learner's level
Stay in sync with each student’s progress, maintaining online observations, records, and data
Family Engagement
Communicating with parents (updates & photos, meetings, family events)
Marketing the school through deep community engagement, social media (maybe), and school tours
School Operations
Establish the annual school calendar and daily routines
Maintain a system for compliance with local education requirements
Interview and onboard TAs and substitutes
The ideal candidate:
Is fiercely dedicated to being the best teacher they can be and bringing out the best in their students
Has 2+ years experience teaching, ideally with a California teacher's credential
Is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and comfortable teaching it to kids
Is excited to be a co-owner, not an employee
Hours and Benefits:
This is a full time, in-person position based in San Francisco
Base salary is $80,000 per year
25% profit sharing if teaching the full year
Holidays aligned with the school calendar, paid sick days whenever needed
Healthcare or other benefits are not offered at this time
